1993
In 1993 the Deichtorhallen Hamburg organized an exhibition on media art called „mediale“. The whole set of high walls had been painted with smoke-signs up to an idea by Robert Wilson. To me these signs looked like cave-paintings and the black smoke, which was applied, had also a parallel to ancient cave paintings. Today Polaroid Positiv-Negative film, on which I photographed, doesn’t exist anymore. So my chosen title „ancient media“ became prophetic.
